Appointments are preferred, but we do accept walk-in appointments. Please note that scheduled appointments will take priority so calling ahead will allow us to “work” you into the schedule and reduce wait time. We do offer drop-off appointments for established clients that are up-to-date on annual exams.
Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to make your appointment. Clients that miss their appointments or do not give adequate notice will be considered a “no show.” We understand that missed or cancelled appointments happen for a number of reason and that some are unavoidable. If we feel this policy is being abused, clients who miss more than one appointment may be subject to an office visit fee.
We make every attempt to see you close to your appointment time. The doctors do however sometimes run late due to the nature of the medical industry. Please call us if you are running late. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, we will see if it is at all possible for you to be seen, but it may be necessary to reschedule an appointment.
Mainstay Veterinary Practice does not offer boarding. We want to focus on great medicine and let boarding facilities focus on the extended stay of pets. Most boarding facilities dedicated to strictly boarding have overnight staff to keep an eye on the animals.
Mainstay offers discounts to rescue groups. Please call the office manager for more information regarding rescue discounts. No other discounts are available at this time.
Medical emergencies will be given priority over all scheduled appointments. While not always possible, please try to give us a call when you are on your way so that our staff can prepare accordingly.
Please expect an email or phone call from us within 7 days of lab testing. Hospitalized or sick patients will receive callbacks sooner.
Payment is due at time of service. We accept cash, all major credit cards, care credit and checks from established clients.
Please give at least 3 business days to refill necessary prescriptions. The best way to request a refill is through our website or email.
Mainstay utilizes a secure network and secure medical software system. We will never release of sell your private information. We will release medical history to referring practices. Sometimes we think your furry family members are so cute and we like to star them on our facebook page (www.facebook.com/mainstayvet) or our website. We are very sensitive to what we post and will never release any private information with that photo and if you would not like us to use any photos, just let us know and it won’t be a problem!
Please notify us a minimum of 72 hours in advance for cancelling surgical or dental procedures. Mainstay reserves the right to charge a $100.00 cancellation fee if we are notified less than 72 hours prior to the procedure.
